The rest of the chain

This kick drum head needs a bass drum to function. You will also need a kick drum pedal, and a kick drum mic to capture the sound for PA systems or recording. For live sound reinforcement, this would be connected to a powered mixer or a mixing console, which is then routed to your PA speakers.

Setting it up

This head is ported, meaning it has a pre-cut hole to allow air to escape. This helps to control the drum's tone and can make it easier to mic. It is designed to fit standard bass drum shells.
