Shure SM7dB

The Shure SM7dB is a professional-grade dynamic vocal microphone designed specifically for podcasters, streamers, broadcasters, and studio vocalists. It retains the same legendary acoustic architecture and warm, smooth sound quality as the iconic Shure SM7B, but integrates a high-quality, built-in active preamplifier licensed from Cloud Microphones. This internal preamp solves the common “gain-hungry” nature of traditional dynamic microphones by providing an optional, clean boost of either +18 dB or +28 dB. This eliminates the need for expensive external inline lifters or high-end, high-gain audio interfaces, allowing users to plug directly into a wider range of recording setups while maintaining an exceptionally low noise floor. The microphone features a cardioid polar pattern that isolates the user’s voice and provides excellent rejection of off-axis background noise, making it highly effective in untreated rooms. For maximum flexibility, the rear of the microphone includes easy-to-use toggle switches for an active/passive bypass (allowing it to operate exactly like a classic SM7B when phantom power is turned off), a bass roll-off filter to curb unwanted low-end rumble, and a mid-range presence boost to enhance vocal clarity.Built with rugged, heavy-duty construction and advanced internal shock-isolation, the SM7dB ships with an integrated swivel mount and two interchangeable windscreens tailored for close-talk vocal performance.
